Pet aquamation, also known as water cremation or alkaline hydrolysis, is a respectful, dignified, and environmentally sustainable alternative way to care for your beloved pet's remains after they have passed away. It is a gentle process that involves using warm water and potassium to break down the tissue of your pet leaving the bone remains. The process is so gentle that many times we are able to recover and return a pet's microchip to a family. The bone remains are dried and then processed into the fine sand-like material we commonly refer to as ash.
Aquamation produces no harmful greenhouse gas emissions and uses 90% less energy than flame cremation. Traditional flame cremation has a very high carbon footprint, and requires the use of high heat at around 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit to reduce your pet’s body to bone fragments which are then processed into ashes.
We offer several cremation options to suit your needs: Individual Cremation: Your pet is cremated in their own separate, designated space, ensuring all of their ashes and are returned to you. Included with this package you will receive your pet’s ashes in the urn of your choice, receive an ink print of your choosing, and a fur clipping if your pet has fur. Additional keepsakes are available for purchase. Communal Cremation: Multiple pets are cremated together, and their ashes are not returned to individual owners. These ashes are scattered in a designated memorial garden or nature preserve here in the Las Vegas Valley.
Our individual cremation package is $175 and our Communal Cremation is $75. We charge a flat rate regardless of the weight of your pet.
Perpetual Memories supports families with exotic pets and offers lower pricing for exotic cremations. Exotic Individual Cremation is $75 and Exotic Communal Cremation is $20.
We understand this is a significant concern. We employ strict identification and tracking procedures throughout the entire cremation process to ensure the integrity of your pet's remains. This includes unique identification tags, detailed record-keeping, and careful handling at every step. If your pet had a tracking microchip and it is found after the aquamation process is completed, we will return it to you. We are committed to providing you with the peace of mind that you are receiving your beloved pet's ashes.
If you choose individual cremation, your pet's ashes will be carefully collected and prepared for return to you. We offer a variety of urns and memorial products. If you choose communal cremation, the ashes will be respectfully scattered locally here in Las Vegas.
The timeframe can vary depending on the type of cremation chosen and our current volume. Typically, private and individual cremations are completed within 10-14 business days. We will provide you with an estimated timeframe when you make arrangements.
We offer a selection of urns made from wood and biodegradable materials and in different styles. We also have memorial products such as ink print keepsakes and fur clippings. You can view our full selection here
We do not directly offer at-home euthanasia, but we partner with several home service veterinarians who align with our ethos of providing high quality and accessible service. Please contact us and we can help you coordinate your pet’s euthanasia with one of them.
